The tunnel will go through Bogd Khan Mountain, as a continuation of the bridge to be built over the Tuul River and the Tuul Highway.
It is planned to connect UB to the New Zuunmod city, reducing the distance between these locations and saving travel time as well to the new International airport, establish a second transportation route in this direction, and help alleviate traffic congestion in the capital city.
